Over the past month Ye has really set in perspective how much he is being taken advantage of by these bigger companies that he essentially gave new life to since his signing. From Gap releasing shirts that are a direct copy of his YGEBB oversized shirts, without the dove on the back. To adidas restocking all kinds of old colorways and models with out his approval.
I’m sure this has went on for a while, but wasn’t in the public as much until a friend of mine ChaseSeesGhosts just casually messaged Ye to say Happy Yeezy Day, I doubt he was even expecting Ye to respond. No one could of expected what his response would be. “adidas made up the Yeezy day idea without my approval then went and brought back older styles without my approval picked colors and named them without my approval went and hired people that worked for me without my approval stole my colorways without my approval stole my styles and material approaches without my approval went and hired a gm of Yeezy without my approval took talent on the production side and sprinkled them throughout adidas originals without my approval Even though they did a Balenciaga collaboration they completely slowed down production on the shoes me and Demna developed for Gap by trying to bully Gap even though my contract states I can do casual shoes which I was doing when I did fashion shows When I originally ordered adidas to make more Yeezy slides the GM lied to my face and said they didn’t have the capacity meanwhile adidas was copying my slides and making their own version of the Yeezy slide Yeezy is 68% of adidas on line sales God step in” After sending this to ChaseSeesGhosts, Ye then also sent it out to multiple media companies sharing his frustration with adidas.
After revealing to the world what has been going on behind the scenes with adidas about Yeezy Day, this past week Ye has taken it further posting on Instagram, that it’s wild to him that adidas thinks they can just color and name his shoes without his approval. He cares about building something that changes the world and something he can leave to his kids. adidas apparently tried to buy Ye out for 1 billion dollars, when his projected royalties for next year is 500 million dollars alone. This leaves Ye wondering how they could offer him only 1 billion dollars to hand over everything he has built.

Ye doubled down in another post basically saying he is ready to leave adidas and has already sent a breach of contract letter, where he would leave in 7 months. Ye has since changed his mind giving adidas until Tuesday, as he feels they have breached their contract by stealing his designs amongst other things. He vows to make things unbearable for adidas, as he has played nice so far. Ye went as far as saying he knows everything, including fake shoes they sold behind his back. He didn’t go into detail how they sold fake shoes, this could likely stem from all these fake factories having all the designs and materials to make upcoming colorways before they drop, or he could mean something totally different. Since he didn’t go into detail we can only speculate.

As if these posts were not clear enough he went on to say he isn’t working with Daniel Cherry because everyone has quit since he was hired. adidas putting weaklings in positions of artificial power demoralizes the whole team. Since Kasper Rorsted announced stepping down in the coming year, Ye insinuates everyone will blame him, and when Ye leaves he still gonna take his 15% for all the fake 350s adidas is gonna run

It’s not looking good for the adidas/Yeezy collaboration, and if both sides can’t settle their differences, then we might actually see Ye walk away from adidas. Only time will tell, maybe Kasper stepping down and Ye being so vocal, can bring these 2 brands together to work out their problems. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated as this transpires.
